Eid ul Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month when Muslims around the world observe fasts and refrain themselves from eating, drinking, sexual activities and harmful thoughts.
Muslims from around the world, celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid by gathering with their families and having feasts. It is an occasion when traditional food is cooked in almost every Muslim household, or charity is given for the lesser privileged. Eid is also seen as an occasion to reflect on the teachings of Ramadan, and instill those wonderful aspects through gratitude.
Here are some of the things that the month of Ramadan has made us grateful for, and we would love to share with all of you.
As Muslims abstain from eating or drinking anything during Ramadan from sunrise to sunset, it brings a realization of how blessed they are to have the choice of food and drinks at our disposal at all times. It also makes them conscious of food wastage, and donating to the less fortunate.
Eid is an occasion that brings families and friends together. Families prepare hearty meals and invite their relatives over, or send gifts to each other.
In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to lose touch with loved ones as we get busy with work or other commitments. Festivals like Eid bring across a sense of community within the members, and refreshes the bond between family members. It is a great time to sit and pay gratitude for having loving family members around you, and enjoy this blessed occasion with them.
Fasting takes a lot of resilience and self-control. It is a great reminder to be grateful for one’s health and strength to be able to observe fasts for a whole month.
We tend to take our lives for granted on daily basis, but fasting allows one to slow down, watch their meals and consume the most nutritious of diets during evenings.
Eid marks an end to the month of fasting, but at the same time as one enjoys the hearty meals, it is a good time to give thanks for their health and well-being.
Wishing a very happy and grateful Eid to everyone celebrating, from our team at Skylink!
